In a meaningful celebration of World Environment Day, NRRWA organized a special sapling distribution programme for local residents. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness and community participation in sustainable living.

Commitment to Clean Drinking Water

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Shri G.T. Devegowda assured residents that measures are being taken to supply pure drinking water to the outskirts and developing residential layouts of Mysuru.

He said:

“Chamaraja, Narasimharaja and Krishnaraja Vidhana Sabha constituencies are within the Ring Road, while Chamundeshwari constituency is both inside and outside the Ring Road, and hence is distributed in all directions. It has a corporation, four Town Panchayats, 5 wards from Corporation with a total area of 40 sq.km.”

“Plans are underway to begin water distribution through the Kabini project. The second phase of the Karnataka Water Distribution Scheme and the Housing Development Scheme will be implemented within the next 15 days. These steps will help supply water to four key zones in the city.”

He further informed that:

  • Work to provide 60 MLD of water is going to start soon
  • Work on the Hale Unduvaadi project worth 545 crores is progressin
  • After project completion, over 200 villages layouts will receive steady drinking water supply.

Meaningful Participation from Residents

During the event, Shri G.T. Devegowda distributed saplings to residents, encouraging them to contribute to environmental protection and make their localities greener.

The programme was presided over by NRRWA President Shri M.N. Narasimha Murthy. Mr. Ravikumar, Dasanakoppalu Devaraju, Harish, Siddu, Kiran, Praveen, Community members and office bearers actively participated and supported the event.
